Integrating empathy into organisations and communities as a developed skill and a versatile tool through consultation and training.

Let's talk!

When to use Integrative Empathy

Integrative empathy is versatile: it is a method for co-creation and collaboration, problem solving and (strategic) decision making. It also facilitates peer support and learning.

Elements of warmth and understanding are maintained without losing sight of goals and practicality.

Integrative empathy can be used in existing meetings or to start a new way of working and learning together.

… what I could relate to was the reflecting [...] part. Uhm, that is something that I am still able to adapt in my everyday life.

The Benefits

Integrative Empathy  applies 5 capacities to connect team members, identify opportunities and co-create solutions. Thus, leading to improved inter-collegial understanding and support. All the while the sharing of professional expertise leads to improved quality of work.

If left unacknowledged and unaddressed, group dynamics will undermine group processes.   Integrative empathy skills address complex interpersonal dynamics in diverse groups, consequently addressing interpersonal processes.

With empathy we embrace unique skills and perspectives associated with diversity. This facilitates creativity and innovation rather than falling into conflict and competition.

An overview of Integrative Empathy

Collaboration and co-creation happen with the right environment for people to bring their best selves to the table.

With Integrative empathy we skill leaders, facilitators and participants to work effectively together. You learn to prepare and maintain a conducive environment, invite creativity, honour and nurture diversity and effectively challenge bias and assumptions.

When we take the time to enable a culture of mutual empathy creative innovation happens.

When we ask people what empathy is, a common response is “to put yourself into someone’s shoes.” We also hear that it involves knowing about the thoughts and feelings of others…. Read more about what it can be in our Psychology Today post .
