This interactive online Empathy Masterclass for Teachers prepares educators to facilitate empathy skilfully in the classroom. Empathy is a competency. It needs to be understood, but more importantly, it needs to be practised.

Children need to keep up with the lightning pace of modern society and increasing levels of intolerance and polarization. This requires great flexibility and an ability to deal with uncertainty. Problem solving, collaboration, communication, critical thinking, creativity, flexibility, social skills and leadership are crucial skills for participation in the 21st century. Empathy is part of each and every one of these.

In our live Online Classroom, teachers will practice their empathic capacities. Together we will also learn to apply empathic skills with students in the classroom as well as facilitate them to empathise with others. Teachers will learn how to encourage and respect personal expression while being on the lookout for prejudice and intolerance.

This Integrative Empathy for Design workshop equips you with practical knowhow and hands-on skills to deepen your empathy for design. In our live Online Classroom you learn to apply these skills: self-empathy and bias, non-verbal communication, deep listening and imagination.  We touch on their application to deepen research and multi-disciplinary collaboration and co-creation.  Thereafter, you may like to join the Practicing Integrative Empathy for Design Course for an in-depth training of these essential design elements..

Empathy is given centre-stage in design thinking and human-centred design. It is useful throughout the design process since it offers skills to guide interactions between multi-stakeholders. It is also the basis for doing skilful research, interviewing and observing clients. However, what is often lacking is specific instruction on how to use empathy in research and design.

Integrative Empathy for Design, provides specific instructions on the how of empathy. What’s more, you will be given ample time to apply your skills to your own design challenges. Throughout the workshop our experienced facilitators will provide coaching and feedback to deepen your insights into customers and teams .
